Bumpstart Warranty Process
1. Starting a Warranty Claim
All warranty claims must start with email or in-store contact to our Customer Care team:
team@bumpstartbabyshop.co.uk
Customers must provide:
-
Proof of purchase (receipt)
-
Product name/model/colour
-
Serial number (found on the product label or packaging)
-
Clear photos and/or a short video showing the fault
-
A brief description of the issue
Claims cannot be submitted without photos/videos — these are required by all suppliers to open a warranty case.
2. Assessment
The Customer Care team will:
-
Check that the item is within its warranty period
-
Verify fault type and eligibility (manufacturing fault vs. wear and tear)
-
Confirm if the claim can be handled in-store or must go directly to the manufacturer
3. Product Inspection & Condition Recording
Once the product is returned to Bumpstart and needs to be sent for inspection or repair:
-
A condition record will be created, including photos and notes of the item’s current state
-
The condition record will be logged internally and may be shared with the supplier/manufacturer when submitting the claim
-
The product will be securely packaged and labelled before collection or shipment
4. Manufacturer Process
Once the case is logged with the supplier:
-
The manufacturer decides whether the item will be repaired, replaced, or rejected under warranty.
-
Bumpstart will keep the customer updated throughout the process
-
Typical turnaround time: 2–4 weeks, depending on the brand and parts availability.
5. Resolution
When the supplier confirms the outcome:
-
If approved, and the fault is covered under warranty the product will be repaired or replaced at no cost
-
If rejected, Bumpstart will share the manufacturer’s report and, if possible, offer a repair quote or other options.
6. Communication & Tracking
-
Customers will be kept informed via email at each stage (case logged, item received, outcome confirmed)
-
Once resolved, Bumpstart will provide collection details for any returned or replacement items.
7. Key Notes
-
All warranty decisions are made by the manufacturer, not Bumpstart
-
Warranty coverage applies to manufacturing faults only — not accidental damage, misuse, or general wear and tear
- Each brand and product has its own individual warranty period, which can be found in the user manual or on the manufacturer’s website.
